News of the death o f Archbishop Michael Francis was unbelievable. Anyone who passed on the news to another person was cautious before it backfires. But this is what happens when great men of honor and high moral standing in society die. So the man who became the lone voice in the land of mischievous tyrants and military despots for 50 years, is no more. Archbishop Francis became ill following a stroke that paralyzed him in 2004. He has since been limited to personal activities related to his recovery process; although he never really recovered fully up to his death on Sunday. Messages of condolences immediately began pouring in from all over the world. Many described his untimely passing as an irreparable loss to a nation still needing his advocacy and moral counsel. “He was the conscience of Liberia in the last two decades,” writes one sympathizer on his blog. “Although he’s now dead,” the blogger wrote, “his legacy of social justice and moral values will remain with us.” Ordained [...]
